What happened: The Colorado Rockies have added a video advance scout to assist their major league pitching staff. The hire aims to help pitchers accelerate in-game adjustments by sharpening preparation against opposing hitters. The move follows Colorado's recent hiring of Ethan Katz as pitching coach.

Why it matters: Colorado is overhauling its run-prevention infrastructure after years of rotation struggles at Coors Field. Integrating advance video scouting gives the pitching staff dedicated visual tendencies and data to counter opposing lineups before and during series. The front office is prioritizing modern analytical support around Katz to stabilize the staff.

What to watch: The Rockies will finalize the remainder of their coaching and support staff ahead of spring training.
