Wire Report IntelligenceUpdated Sep 31 min read

What happened: TVA Sports will air up to 350 regular-season NHL games annually. The package includes 32 Canadiens regular-season games and French-language coverage of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Why it matters: The agreement preserves a national French-language package as Rogers' new Canadian rights cycle begins in 2026-27. The broader Rogers-NHL contract is worth C$11 billion and runs through 2037-38.

By the numbers: At the annual maximum, TVA Sports could carry 4,200 regular-season games over 12 years; the 32-game Canadiens package totals 384 broadcasts.

What to watch: The 2026-27 schedule will establish which regular-season matchups land on TVA Sports and how playoff coverage is distributed.
