Rogers, Quebecor keep French-language NHL rights with TVA Sports

The 12-season pact runs through 2037-38

What happened: TVA Sports and TVA Sports Direct will distribute the package across Canada beginning in 2026-27. Coverage includes national regular-season games and the Stanley Cup Playoffs in French.

Why it matters: The sublicense fills the French-language component of Rogers' broader C$11 billion Canadian rights package. It extends TVA Sports' run as the league's official French-language broadcaster beyond its first 12-season term.

By the numbers: TVA Sports can carry up to 350 regular-season games annually, including 32 Canadiens games, plus every Canadiens playoff game. The Canadiens allotment increases by 10 regular-season games from the preceding agreement.

What to watch: TVA Sports' first schedule under the agreement will show how its package fits alongside Prime Video's Wednesday slate.
