What happened: The New Orleans Saints posted a birthday tribute on X to Pro Football Hall of Famer Rickey Jackson on March 20, 2026. Jackson turns 68 today and spent 11 seasons (1981-1993) with the Saints as a cornerstone of the famed 'Dome Patrol' defense. Local media and fans echoed the well-wishes highlighting his legacy.

Why it matters: Jackson's career symbolizes the Saints' first era of defensive excellence in the 1980s-90s, offering historical context for fans during the current rebuild. No impact on betting lines, standings, or playoffs as he's long retired. It reinforces franchise pride ahead of the NFL Draft.
