What happened: Cincinnati Reds rookie Sal Stewart appeared on SportsCenter to detail his adjustment to the major league level. The infielder credited his brief stint in the majors late last season for allowing him to "hit the ground running" in the current campaign.

Why it matters: The 2022 first-round draft pick has emerged as a cornerstone for the Reds' lineup during the 2026 season. His early-career production recently secured him a selection to the National League All-Star team. Stewart's positional versatility across the infield has provided crucial depth for Cincinnati.

By the numbers: Through 79 games, Stewart has tallied 17 home runs, 60 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases while posting an .802 OPS. He earned National League Rookie of the Month honors for his performance in April.

What to watch: Stewart prepares to represent the National League in the upcoming All-Star Game.
