What happened: Seattle's defense forced a turnover on a pass from the Kansas City quarterback, taking possession back for the Seahawks. The takeaway preserves a 3-0 Seattle edge while keeping the Chiefs off the scoreboard.

Why it matters: Taking the ball away against a shorthanded Kansas City lineup gives Seattle early control of field position in the regular-season contest. Preventing points on the defensive end keeps pressure on the Chiefs to respond in a low-scoring game.

What to watch: Seattle takes over on offense looking to build on its early lead as play continues.
