What happened: The Broncos coach spoke Tuesday about whether the defeat should serve as a wake-up call. Harrison Butker led the listed scorers with 7 points, while Wil Lutz had 4 for Denver.

Why it matters: The loss dropped Denver to 2-2 and put more focus on Sean Payton early in the season. Kansas City moved to 1-3 with its first win after a three-game slide, giving the result weight for both sides.

By the numbers: Kansas City improved to 1-3 and snapped a three-game skid with the 31-10 final, while Denver fell to 2-2. Butker finished with 7 points, and Lutz had 4.

What to watch: Watch whether Denver can respond after slipping back to .500 and whether Payton's message carries into the next game. Kansas City now turns to building on its first win of the season.
