What happened: The Detroit Lions kicked off their mandatory minicamp with a standout performance from the defensive backfield, recording three interceptions against three different quarterbacks. Veteran safety Chuck Clark picked off Jared Goff during 11-on-11 drills, while rookie Aamaris Brown and linebacker Jimmy Rolder also secured takeaways in a ball-hawk-heavy session.

Why it matters: Improving takeaway production is a primary focus for defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard after Detroit ranked 19th in the league in that category last season. The secondary's dominance is especially notable given the continued absences of key starters Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph, highlighting the improved depth within the unit as training camp approaches.

What to watch: Coaches will continue to evaluate rookie DBs in the 'deep end' of the rotation throughout the three-day minicamp. The health of the safety room remains the top priority as the team monitors the recovery of its injured starters.
