What happened: Vic Tafur relayed that Shanahan answered 'maybe' when asked whether wide receiver Christian Kirk will play.

Why it matters: An open designation keeps Kirk's gameday availability unresolved after he was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 15. The veteran receiver entered the league as the 47th overall selection in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

What to watch: Official pregame inactive lists will determine whether Kirk suits up.
