What happened: Analyst Sean Sheehan criticized the 2026 PwC Hurling All-Star selections, joining debate over Sean Finn and Peter Casey omissions. Sheehan argued honors should go strictly to top performers rather than distributing selections across squads.

Why it matters: Champions Limerick dominated the final fifteen with nine selections, featuring seven first-time winners. The debate highlights recurring tension over whether dominant championship sides should receive even greater representation on the annual team.

What to watch: The 2026 PwC All-Star banquet will formally honor the fifteen selections.
