What happened: Pascal Siakam converted a euro-step layup late in the second quarter to pull within three points at the break in Indianapolis. Sidelined guard Tyrese Haliburton celebrated the basket from the bench.

Why it matters: Haliburton's absence due to a left hamstring strain places additional scoring and playmaking responsibility on Siakam early in the schedule. Indiana is seeking to stabilize after surrendering 145 points in its previous outing.

What to watch: The second half resumes in Indianapolis with Indiana trailing by three points.
