What happened: Steve Smith Sr. and James Palmer examined whether Mike McDaniel's offense suits Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers. They pointed to heavy pre-snap movement and play-action timing falling apart. They added the roster is not constructed for a speed-based approach.

Why it matters: Fit between playcaller and quarterback shapes play design and personnel use for the Los Angeles Chargers. Continued friction in motion and play-action leaves Justin Herbert working outside the timing the system demands.

What to watch: Watch whether Los Angeles adjusts motion rate and play-action usage to match personnel going forward.
