What happened: Sonny Styles is receiving more starting reps while wearing the Commanders' green dot. The No. 7 draft pick is communicating calls across the defense.

Why it matters: The assignment puts a central leadership role in a rookie linebacker's hands before the 2026 preseason. His progress will help determine whether he can remain on the field for nearly every defensive package.

What to watch: Watch whether Styles keeps the green dot and starting workload through preseason games.
