What happened: Toronto selected Spencer Miles from the Giants with the No. 27 pick in the 2025 Rule 5 Draft. Multiple teams ahead of Toronto selected no one. Toronto and Baltimore are 0-0 while in progress.

Why it matters: Miles has thrown 94 2/3 innings this season, the most among pitchers selected last December. That workload from the No. 27 slot gives Toronto innings from the back of the order. The Blue Jays lead the series 2-1.

By the numbers: Rule 5 pitchers selected last December: Miles 94 2/3 innings, most in class. Draft slot: No. 27.

What to watch: Watch how Toronto deploys Miles for innings down the stretch.
