What happened: PFF credited Matthew Stafford with five turnover-worthy plays against the blitz this season. Deshaun Watson, Jacoby Brissett and Malik Willis each have four, with six other quarterbacks tied at three.

Why it matters: Mistakes against the blitz often turn into interceptions and short fields. Stafford threw 46 touchdowns with eight interceptions in 17 games in 2025, a baseline that sharpens the early 2026 contrast.

By the numbers: Turnover-worthy plays vs. blitz: Stafford 5; Watson 4; Brissett 4; Willis 4; six tied at 3. 2025: Stafford 4,707 yards, 46 TDs, 8 INTs; Brissett 3,366 yards, 23 TDs, 8 INTs; Willis 422 yards, 3 TDs in 4 games.

What to watch: Upcoming blitz-heavy matchups will test whether Stafford separates further or the three chasers close the gap.
