What happened: Starks said he played quarterback in high school because of Lamar Jackson. He pointed to Jackson as the model for his early football path and described meeting him for the first time.

Why it matters: Jackson was drafted 32nd overall in 2018 out of Louisville and became Baltimore's longtime starter. He threw for 2,549 yards with 21 touchdowns against seven interceptions across 13 games in 2025.

What to watch: Attention now turns to Sunday's game at Cleveland and whether Jackson returns to the field.
