What happened: Veteran defensive end Dean Lowry is re-signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers, a source told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. The deal adds important depth to the defensive line immediately following the 2026 NFL Draft. Lowry provides reliability as a rotational player.

Why it matters: The Steelers are filling remaining holes on the interior line in classic fashion, as noted by observers. This strengthens their defensive front ahead of the 2026 season after recent draft moves like their third-round pick of Penn State QB Drew Allar. Lowry's experience aids roster building post-draft.

What to watch: Await official announcement and contract details. Monitor Lowry's integration during rookie minicamp.
