What happened: The Pittsburgh Steelers signed wide receiver Brandon Smith to their active roster from the practice squad on Saturday. The team also elevated wide receiver Brandon Johnson ahead of Week 9. Both wideouts had been elevated from the practice squad on Oct. 24.

Why it matters: The moves bolster Pittsburgh's wide receiver depth following midseason roster shuffling. Smith secures a spot on the 53-man roster after spending the first two months of his rookie campaign on the practice squad. Johnson provides immediate depth as a standard game-day elevation.

What to watch: Pittsburgh will release its inactive list 90 minutes before kickoff on Sunday.
