What happened: The Jacksonville Jaguars elevated linebacker Jamal Hill to the active roster from the practice squad via standard elevation on Saturday. Hill previously signed with the practice squad on Oct. 22 to bolster defensive depth. The designation makes him available for Sunday's contest without occupying a permanent 53-man roster spot.

Why it matters: The move provides immediate depth at linebacker and on special teams units for the upcoming matchup. Under NFL standard elevation rules, Hill can dress on game day before reverting to the practice squad without clearing waivers. The promotion offers him his first regular-season game action with Jacksonville.

What to watch: Hill is in line to make his season debut on Sunday before reverting to the practice squad on Monday.
