What happened: Kevin Stefanski highlighted Baker Mayfield's ability to keep plays alive past the initial read, calling the quarterback 'extremely talented' during Atlanta Falcons preparations. The praise arrives as Mayfield works toward a return after being ruled out last week.

Why it matters: Containing off-schedule scrambles and broken plays shapes Atlanta's defensive game plan as the 2-4 club tries to snap a two-game losing streak. Mayfield's status depends on how his injured thumb responds to workloads across consecutive practice days.

What to watch: Daily practice participation reports will dictate whether Mayfield is cleared in time for Sunday's kickoff against the Falcons.
