What happened: Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn announced Friday that wide receiver Stefon Diggs will not play Sunday against the New York Giants. Quarterback Jayden Daniels is cleared to start, and fellow receiver Terry McLaurin looked good during the latest practice session.

Why it matters: The absence of Diggs removes a key target for Daniels in a critical NFC East divisional matchup. The positive update on McLaurin ensures the offense retains at least one veteran receiver against New York.

What to watch: The Commanders will finalize their active roster ahead of Sunday's kickoff against the Giants.
