What happened: The on-field strike call stood as Strike 1 after review through the automated ball-strike challenge system. The sequence continued under MLB's ongoing use of the challenge process.

Why it matters: Early-count rulings carry outsized weight, with Strike 1 tilting at-bat leverage toward the pitcher. Each upheld call adds to the sample for how consistently the zone is applied.

What to watch: Watch whether upcoming challenges continue to uphold the on-field zone.
