Volpe's overturned homer becomes RBI double in sixth

Lombard scores to make it 3-4 in sixth

What happened: Anthony Volpe lifted a fly ball to left fielder Victor Mesa Jr. in the bottom of the sixth. The umpires reviewed the on-field home run call and changed it to a double. George Lombard Jr. scored on the play to make it 3-4.

Why it matters: The run cut the deficit to one entering the late innings. The reversal kept Volpe at second rather than adding a home run to his line. A one-run margin preserves leverage for both bullpens the rest of the way.

What to watch: Watch how the trailing side handles the tying run from scoring position. The next outs decide whether the sixth-inning momentum carries.
