What happened: Tatum reached 11 points as the first double-figure scorer of the game. Boston produced 12 consecutive points to take control on Oct. 20 opening night.

Why it matters: An early star-led surge sets the tone for the 2026-27 opener. A double-digit lead built on one run forces an adjustment before the rotation settles.

What to watch: Watch whether Boston extends the lead coming out of the run and how the opponent answers the shift.
