What happened: Teoscar Hernandez drove a ball into the right-field seats to push Los Angeles in front 2-0. The swing was followed by a high bat flip as play continued.

Why it matters: The homer created the first real cushion on the board and changed the shape of every at-bat that followed. With the game still in progress, the next few innings will decide whether that swing holds up as the key turn.

What to watch: Watch whether Los Angeles can build on the 2-0 edge before the late innings.
