What happened: Timing centers on an All-Pro tackle retirement and a subsequent center trade in Philadelphia. The same Steele competing for the right-tackle job entered 2026 in his seventh season out of Texas Tech.

Why it matters: Right-tackle stability shapes protection plans during the 2026 regular season. Movement at the spot would test depth behind a contested battle.

What to watch: Watch whether the right-tackle rotation settles over the next games.
