What happened: Houston resumes its season at 2-5 and 11th in the AFC, with a trip to the winless Los Angeles Chargers next Sunday. Ten games remain, six on the road and four at home. The Texans also have three division games left, all at home.

Why it matters: A 10-7 finish requires an 8-2 run, and November alone cannot go worse than 3-1. The month brings the Chargers (0-7), the Browns (5-3), the Colts and the Ravens, with a loss in Los Angeles all but ending the playoff push. That game falls less than 48 hours before the Nov. 10 trade deadline.

By the numbers: Texans: 2-5 through seven games in 2026, seed 11, 0-4 at home and 2-1 on the road. Houston holds the No. Browns: 5-3 in 2026 through eight games. Ravens: 4-4 through eight games.

What to watch: Houston plays at the Chargers next Sunday, with the Nov. 10 trade deadline less than 48 hours later.
