What happened: Dell's ongoing recovery from a knee injury prompted the transaction. Houston can activate him later in 2026 once he is eligible and cleared.

Why it matters: The Texans must begin the season without a receiver who returned to padded practice earlier this month. The move turns a potential Week 1 comeback into a later-season decision.

What to watch: Dell's return to practice would open his activation window.
