What happened: An injury-depleted Texas squad secured a road victory over Missouri on Saturday. Missouri struggled in the secondary and suffered breakdowns on special teams that derailed its home bid. The Longhorns persevered despite a fumble by Mosley that gifted field position to the Tigers.

Why it matters: The road win keeps Texas firmly positioned in the College Football Playoff conversation as the selection committee unveils its initial rankings. Surviving multiple roster injuries and ball-security issues protects the Longhorns' standing in the conference race. For Missouri, missed opportunities in the secondary and on special teams stall momentum during the November stretch run.

What to watch: Texas will monitor its injury report ahead of next week's regular-season slate as the College Football Playoff picture takes shape.
