What happened: Mike Tirico recalled preparing the call 'Touchdown, New Orleans' for the Superdome reopening game after Hurricane Katrina. He said he viewed the night as honoring the city rather than the Saints.

Why it matters: The reopening remains a landmark moment linking the team to the city's recovery. Tirico's reflection shows how the broadcast framing centered that civic significance.

What to watch: The Saints remain scheduled to play at home Monday night.
