What happened: Tom Brady drew direct parallels between the current New England Patriots roster and the previous squad alongside Kevin Burkhardt and Julian Edelman. The exchange paired the longtime New England quarterback with his former receiver to evaluate how the franchise operates internally.

Why it matters: The comparison surfaces as New England weighs pass rush and wide receiver additions ahead of the trade deadline while Mack Hollins and Romeo Doubs remain on injured reserve. Roster depth stays in focus after the Patriots signed Elliott Davison following Doubs' shoulder injury.

What to watch: The New England Patriots face the Chicago Bears next in a scheduled matchup that has not started yet.
