What happened: Tyler Smith exhibited rust in his return from preseason thumb surgery. The Cowboys guard and his fellow linemen experienced communication issues and failed to stay on the same page against Tampa Bay.

Why it matters: The disjointed play up front contributed to broader offensive execution problems during the primetime loss. Smith had just been activated from injured reserve prior to the matchup.

What to watch: The coaching staff will look to rebuild the unit's chemistry and timing before the next game.
