What happened: Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle stated that Tyrese Haliburton will sit out Saturday's preseason matchup against Atlanta. The guard is sidelined due to a mild tweak of his right ankle.

Why it matters: The cautious approach keeps the franchise cornerstone off the floor for the exhibition, though an MRI on the joint looked good. Haliburton's health remains the top priority for Indiana as the regular season approaches.

By the numbers: Indiana enters the exhibition at 4-5 overall, while the Hawks stand at 6-4.

What to watch: Haliburton will be evaluated over the weekend and could return to practice as early as Monday.
