What happened: The UC Capitals withstood a late comeback attempt by the Bendigo Spirit to close out a narrow victory during WNBL27 Opening Week. Amy Atwell was named Sephora Player of the Game for leading Canberra in the home opener.

Why it matters: The win puts Canberra in the victory column early after the WNBL27 campaign tipped off on October 15 with a six-game Opening Week slate. Holding serve at home against a conference rival Featuring offseason addition Jade Melbourne gives the Capitals immediate momentum in the standings.

What to watch: WNBL27 Opening Week continues with remaining schedule matchups airing on 9Now and ESPN via Disney+.
