What happened: The UFC has signed undefeated Russian fighter Ivan Gnizditskiy directly to its roster, his manager Ali Askarov of Crown Sports Management told MMA Junkie's Nolan King.

Why it matters: Gnizditskiy bypasses Dana White's Contender Series after being forced out of previously scheduled appearances on both Season 9 and Season 10 of the qualifying show. The former ONE Championship competitor brings an unblemished record into the promotion.

By the numbers: Ivan Gnizditskiy holds a 7-0 professional MMA record.

What to watch: The UFC has not yet announced an opponent, weight class, or debut date for Gnizditskiy's first Octagon appearance.
