What happened: The Utah Mammoth and head coach Andre Tourigny have agreed to a one-year contract extension, the team announced Thursday. The deal keeps Tourigny under contract through the 2027-28 season. He was previously entering the final year of his existing agreement.

Why it matters: The extension reflects management's confidence in Tourigny following a season where the Mammoth won their first home playoff game. Tourigny has successfully overseen the team's transition to Salt Lake City while establishing a competitive culture.

What to watch: Tourigny will lead the Mammoth into the 2026-27 season looking to build on their first postseason appearance. The team now turns its attention to the upcoming NHL Entry Draft.
