Seven unforgettable seasons in taronja 🧡🍊

What happened: Valencia Basket and EuroLeague Women paid tribute to Queralt Casas, marking the close of "seven unforgettable seasons in taronja." The club confirmed the Catalan guard departs as the most important player in the history of its women’s program — the all-time leader in games played (329), points (2,556), rebounds (1,388) and steals (534) — following the expiration of her contract.

Why it matters: Casas leaves behind 11 titles and spent four of her seven seasons as team captain, anchoring the program’s rise across both the EuroLeague Women and EuroCup Women. Departures of franchise-defining captains of this standing mark a genuine era change for a European contender.

What to watch: Valencia Basket has announced a public farewell event for Casas, with the date to be confirmed in the coming weeks. Watch for her next destination ahead of the upcoming European campaign — and for how Valencia reshapes its backcourt leadership.

Correction: An earlier version of this article misidentified the departing player as Alicia Florez. The player honored by Valencia Basket and EuroLeague Women is Queralt Casas. Wire Report regrets the error.
