RT @valkyries: Monday night's lineup ⚔️ @Chase, Paze | Starting Lineup https://t.co/DKCYTrOk1u

What happened: The Golden State Valkyries posted their starting lineup ahead of Monday night's WNBA Commissioner's Cup home game, billed as a return to the Bay for one of their guards. The contest is now underway at Golden State's home floor.

Why it matters: Golden State entered the night at 9-5 on the season, riding a two-game winning run and leaning on one of the league's stingier defenses. A strong Cup-night showing would bolster the Valkyries' standing in the Commissioner's Cup race and their early-season momentum.

By the numbers: Golden State sits 9-5 this season, averaging 84.6 points while allowing a tight 79.6, with a current two-game winning streak and a last-five of WWLLW. Their biggest win of the year came 97-70 over the Connecticut Sun on May 25. The Valkyries hold an early lead 42-26 in the game now in progress.

What to watch: Watch how Golden State's defense holds up over the remaining quarters and whether the announced starters carry the load in a Commissioner's Cup matchup with seeding stakes.
