What happened: North Carolina faces UConn seeking its fifth win of the season and an end to a two-game losing streak. UConn, in first-year coach Jason Candle's debut season, is 4-4 with two of its four losses coming by a field goal or less.

Why it matters: UNC needs two wins in its last four games to reach bowl eligibility, which makes this a must-win in Bill Belichick's second season. Both teams lost to Syracuse on a two-point conversion in overtime.

By the numbers: UConn QB Kalieb Osborne, who followed Candle from Toledo, has thrown for 1,857 yards and 18 touchdowns against two interceptions. He has added 330 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. UNC's only previous game at UConn was a 12-10 win in 2009.

What to watch: Containing Osborne is the main task for the Tar Heels' defense. A win would leave UNC one victory short of bowl eligibility with three games left.
