What happened: Minnesota added Johnny Hekker, running backs Audric Estime and Devin Neal, outside linebacker Keshawn Banks and guard Josh Priebe to the practice squad. Hekker cleared from the active roster Sept. 29 after re-signing Sept. 22. Estime was waived by New Orleans on Sept. 23.

Why it matters: The moves keep an experienced punter in the building during September shuffling at the position. Adding two backs restocks depth during a 3-0 start after Minnesota moved Max Brosmer and Kyle Van Noy to the active roster and placed Josh Oliver on injured reserve.

By the numbers: Hekker, out of Oregon State, is in his 15th NFL season as of Sept. 29, 2026, and made 4 tackles in 17 games for Tennessee in 2025. Neal had 57 carries for 206 yards and 2 touchdowns as a rookie last season. Minnesota is 3-0 after a 23-16 win at Tampa Bay.

What to watch: Watch for game-day elevations at punter and running back ahead of Week 4.
