What happened: Walker Jenkins is among the prospects under consideration for an MLB promotion. The outfielder reached the highest level of the minors this season.

Why it matters: A late-August debut would provide an early major-league evaluation before 2027 roster planning. Any promotion would require corresponding active- and 40-man-roster moves.

By the numbers: Jenkins is MLB's No. 14 prospect and recorded his first professional multi-homer game Aug. 7.

What to watch: Roster transactions and Jenkins' Triple-A performance will determine whether a promotion follows.
