What happened: Ed Werder named Rich Karlis of the Broncos as his all-time favorite shoeless kicker. The exchange recalled Tony Franklin becoming the first barefoot kicker with Philadelphia as a rookie in 1979.

Why it matters: The note is a historical footnote with no standings or roster impact in the 2026 regular season. It revisits the brief barefoot-kicking era rather than any current kicking competition.

What to watch: No roster move follows; focus remains on Week 6 games.
