What happened: Chicago and Cleveland were 0-0 in the top of the first inning Saturday as ALDS Game 1 got underway. The White Sox opened at the plate as the series began in Cleveland.

Why it matters: The opener puts the Guardians into the matchup they had been waiting on since the Wild Card round ended. Chicago arrived with late momentum, so early control in Game 1 matters before the series starts leaning on bullpen matchups and home-field pressure.

What to watch: Watch whether the scoreless start holds beyond the opening inning and which side creates the first traffic. The first breakthrough would set the tone for the rest of Game 1.
