What happened: Winston-Salem State athletic director Eric Burns said field markings at the last home game fell short of department standards. He took responsibility for the lapse.

Why it matters: Home-game field standards reflect on the athletic department. Accountability from the director sets the expectation before the next home date.

What to watch: Field setup at the next home game will show whether standards are met.
