What happened: Yahoo Sports identified Jonathan Taylor and Breece Hall as potential running back options ahead of the NFL trade deadline. Taylor has run 148 times for 610 yards and 8 touchdowns in 2026 through 8 games. Hall has run 51 times for 163 yards and 1 touchdown in 2026 through 3 games.

Why it matters: Indianapolis previously paused trade discussions involving Taylor, who remains under contract following an extension signed in August. Contenders evaluating backfield depth face a narrowing window to negotiate before the deadline.

What to watch: NFL front offices must finalize any roster moves before the trade deadline passes.
