What happened: The New York Yankees issued an organizational statement Thursday in observance of Spirit Day, pledging support for LGBTQ+ youth and opposing bullying.

Why it matters: The outreach aligns with Major League Baseball's annual October campaign promoting acceptance across its communities. New York accompanied the public message by hosting Covenant House and Food Bank For New York City for this month's food distribution at Yankee Stadium.

What to watch: The Yankees continue their autumn community initiatives in the Bronx alongside ongoing offseason roster evaluations.
