Milwaukee Brewers legend Robin Yount hopes that these Brewers can take care of unfinished business after heartbreak of 1 Via @BNightengale on X

What happened: Robin Yount said he wants the current Milwaukee Brewers to finish the job left undone in 1982. Milwaukee clinched the National League pennant to reach the World Series for the first time since that season.

Why it matters: Milwaukee has never won a World Series, leaving 1982 as the franchise standard for heartbreak. A championship now would close a 44-year gap dating to that loss and define the current core by October success.

By the numbers: 44 years between Milwaukee World Series appearances (1982 to 2026).

What to watch: Milwaukee opens the World Series with the franchise's first title still unclaimed.
