What happened: San Francisco entered Oct. 1 at 3-0 despite injuries on both sides of the ball. Its defense allowed nothing across that stretch.

Why it matters: Unbeaten starts shape early NFC West positioning. Sustaining it while down three wideouts tests roster depth through October.

What to watch: Availability after the injury wave will show how long the defensive form holds.
