What happened: Collins suffered the injury during Tuesday's practice. The setback came during the opening week of the 2026 NFL season.

Why it matters: San Francisco must rework its interior defensive-line rotation immediately. The absence also costs Collins a full season of on-field development.

What to watch: San Francisco's next roster move should clarify how it plans to replace Collins on the interior.
