7 up, 7 down for Aaron Ashby in Game 4! Make it 18 scoreless innings this Postseason! (MLB x @FirehouseSubs) https://t Via @MLB on X

What happened: Aaron Ashby retired all seven batters he faced in Game 4. That lifts his scoreless streak this postseason to 18 innings.

Why it matters: MLB had put his 16.2 scoreless innings as the most by a reliever to open a postseason in league history, so the outing extends a record he already held. It also builds on the scoreless run Wire Report tracked at 14 innings earlier this week.

By the numbers: 18 scoreless innings this postseason. 7 batters faced in Game 4, 7 retired. Prior MLB reliever mark to open a postseason: 16.2 innings.

What to watch: Ashby's next appearance is the next chance to add to the 18-inning total.
